INTREPID RESPONSE SUCCESSFULLY UNITES 23 AGENCIES FOR MAJOR POLITICAL RALLY

The Challenge Deputy Chief Morgan, an experience SWAT Commander, suddenly needed to plan a high-profile election rally with short notice following the President-Elect Donald Trump assassination attempt, which presented many challenges. In addition to being the overall Incident Commander, he also fulfilled the role of liaison between the Secret Service and local police departments. He had to coordinate and deploy over 110 officers from 9 different police departments, as well as outside city and state agencies involving the County Regional Transit Authority, transportation, barricades and perimeter safety, schools, and traffic. With safety being a top priority, Deputy Chief Morgan was confident that the Intrepid Response solution could give him the comprehensive common operating picture needed to efficiently perform pre-planning and effectively execute the mission with precision and preparedness.  The Solution With only a few weeks to plan, Chief Morgan and his team put Intrepid Response to work. Using the fully customizable markers and shapes within the Locate Map, he laid out a visual plan with distinct perimeters and important information such as: road closures, security posts, lookout positions, extraction points, entry and exit points, and the exact locations where he needed his team stationed. His teams met multiple times to work out their plan within Intrepid Response, limiting confusion and miscommunications, securing areas of exposure, and allowing teams to prepare and be on the same page before the event took place. This finalized plan was easily shared

On the day of the rally at the Middletown Middle School, there were over 3000 attendees. During the event planning, a perimeter team noticed a local resident had put up a ladder up to the roof of his home. Dispatch quickly shared the information with the closest response team, who promptly contacted the homeowner, who apologized for the disturbance and removed the ladder. With Intrepid Response, the suspicious activity was identified rapidly, shared, and resolved safety and efficiently.
