On Sunday August 25, 2024, Lt. Tom Valdez of the Hernando County, Florida Sheriff’s Office was notified that a Vice-Presidential candidate would be holding an election event in his jurisdiction just four days later. Given the heightened security concerns following a recent assassination attempt on a Presidential candidate in Butler, PA, seamless multi-agency collaboration was an absolute priority. 

The mission spanned over 110 acres and involved multiple agencies, include the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsborough County, Pasco County, Tampa Police Department, and Secret Service. The complexity of the operation was further heightened by sniper teams, drone surveillance, and airspace monitoring, all requiring rapid multi-domain communication, precise coordination, and instant response to potential threats.

Solution

With little time to prepare, Lt. Valdez immediately turned to Intrepid Response to begin mission planning towards a comprehensive protection strategy, ensuring that all agencies could collaborate over a real-time operating picture.
