Special Enforcement Team Alerted to a Murder Case in Which Suspect Fled the Scene

Challenge

Lieutenant Cory Leeper of the Special Enforcement Team was alerted to an emergency call regarding a murder case in which the leading suspect had fled from the scene. Commander Leeper promptly put

intrepid Response software solution into action — utilizing the Locate  map for persistent and dynamic

location tracking, Activate  to mobilize his team, and Connect  for critical information exchange.

Patrol officers utilizing Intrepid Response immediately initiated lock downs, and within seconds,

SWAT and other tactical teams were swiftly activated to the secured area. After arriving, Lieutenant Leeper noticed an airship that had been deployed to survey the scene. The airship detected a heat signature emanating from one of the homes, indicating the potential presence of the suspect.

Utilizing Intrepid Locate’s customizable marker feature, the heat signature location was instantly and annotated on the map and shared with the entire team. A scout team was safely deployed to

confirm the location, with Intrepid Locate enabling real-time monitoring of all team movements. Evolving incident information was promptly updated and shared through Intrepid Connect. The team identified homes within an unsafe distance from the suspect, marked them on the map, and initiated the evacuation process. Steps that could have taken hours were able to be accomplished within minutes.

As officers were securing the surrounding area, the Intrepid Locate Map helped them identify a “wash” that could potentially breach their perimeter and serve as an escape route for the suspect. This escape

route hadn’t been visible from the view of the airship — only from the ground view with the Intrepid Response map. This new perspective prompted the officers to strategically position K9 officers in the area, anticipating the suspect’s potential escape attempt through that route.

swiftly and safely apprehend the murder suspect, effectively bringing the incident to a close without further escalation.
